  1. Rice one and half cup basmati or sonamasoori.
  2. Mint leaves one big bunch.
  3. Green chillies 3
  4. Grated coconut 1/2 cup or 3 tbsp.
  5. Red chilles 2.
  6. Tamarind water from big marble size tamarind pulp
  7. channa dhal.
  8. Chashew nuts few.
  9. Mustard seeds 1 tsp.
  10. Urad dhal 1 tsp.
  11. Salt to taste.
  12. Oil or ghee for seasoning.
  13. Half onion.


  • Take mint leaves from stem and wash and keep ready.
  • Cook rice and keep reeady.
  • In a pan add one tsp of oil add mint leaves saute till it shrinks.
  • Add green chilles and fry ,now add grated coconut,fry for 2 min and let this cool to room temp.
  • Grind mint leaves ,coconut,green chilles and tamarind water in blender untill smooth.
  • In a pan add oil or ghee for seasoning, fry chashew nuts and keep it.
  • In same oil add mustard seeds,urad dhal,channa dhal let this fry ,next add red chilles,add onion and fry till golden brown.
  • Add grinded paste let this paste cook for 5 min add little water for cooking.
  • Add salt to taste now once this mint is cooked add cooked rice and mix well.
  • Cook this in sim for 3 min .
  • Granish with chashew nuts and fries peanuts.

Serve with chips or potato fry.
